lombok update

First Time
It was for the first time that the regency of East Lombok held an Art Festival. East Lombok Art Festival which kicked off on June 27 until July 3, 1999 was officially opened by Minister of Tourism, Art and Culture, Marzuki Usman. The Festival has been concentrated at the Art Market of Senggigi. This event can be categorized as a fairly important event for East Lombok, due to the realization that tourism and art are developing fairly fast in this area. The opening ceremony was also coloured by the presentation of various specially Lombok dances procession complete with the presentation of the local costumes.

On welcoming the Minister who opened the Art Festival, Holiday Inn served a two full hours dinner at the seaside garden of the hotel. On that occasion the Minister delivered his speech containing his view points about Lombok. He had strong enough reasons for saying that East Lombok has a great potential and prospect for its future.
