BIJI RESTAURANT AT BEGAWAN GIRI
Perched on the side of a gorge, boasting stunning views of the Ayung River and the surrounding jungle, February 12th sees the
office launch of Biji Restaurant. Set in the grounds off the legendary Begawan Giri Estate 10 km north of
Ubud, Biji boasts the latest concept in dining, New World style courtesy of highly acclaimed chef David King (formerly of Darley Thai, Sydney)
With all your senses on alert, you realise it's the combination of so many seemingly
contrasting factors that make this experience so special: the freshest ingredients combined in a myriad of flavours and textures; gone is the tradition of choosing three to four courses from different sections of the menu. Here, recreated into a relaxed, free-flowing style, you combine dishes as you please. These .are then cooked in the open kitchen in the style you choose, using techniques from-all over the world or as you
wish and where you wish.
The style of the menu is
equally New-World: Asia has an influence, as does the Middle-East and the Mediterranean, always using wherever possible, organic and free-range ingredients. Vegetables are chosen from the adjoining garden, fruit is
grown of the expansive landscaped grounds of Begawan Giri Estate, fish and
prawns are farmed in holy spring water ponds adjacent to the Ayung River.
Biji Restaurant and bar offers everything the modern world desires of a restaurant. Taste, style and accessibility, innovation and education. Truly an exceptional dining experience.
