SIA Support The School TODAY, Singapore Airlines (SIA) presented a cheque of Rp. 12 million to SMP Angkasa, a secondary school managed by the Yayasan Angkasa - Foundation of Airport Authority Denpasar. This is to support the school in implementing the academic and welfare programme of the school. Singapore Airlines is one of the largest operators in Denpasar, operating, 3 nights a day. It will soon increase services to 24 times a week and eventually to 4 times a day. SIA is very much a part of the airport community and would like to make a contribution to the people living around the airport vicinity. SMP Angkasa needs financial support in order to increase the quality of tuition and to maintain the school building in good condition. The students of SMP Angkasa come from within the airport vicinity. Many of the students come from poor families and are unable to pay their school fees. The school cannot rely on revenue from tuition fees alone, and experiences a deficit every month. The donation was handed over by SIA's General Manager for Indonesia, Mr. Raja Segran to Mrs. Dhordy, patron of the Angkasa Foundation, in conjunction with a graduation and farewell ceremony at SMP Angkasa.
